The Artist’s Story
It was a fine spring day in the Pacific Northwest.
My dog and I were headed home from a neighborhood walk. As we turned a corner, I noticed a brilliant blue hydrangea peeking through ferns. The plant was perched on a rock wall, inaccessible and protected by rather large spiders.
The color of the petals were too striking to ignore—
light plum petals
inked in dark indigo with traces of aqua
all creating a vibrant blue that spoke to my soul.
I climbed, foraged then pressed those jewels in books to keep as long as possible. Months later, I found myself creating works of art with my collections for friends, family, and now you!
I am a botanical fine artist and preservation artist based in Seattle, WA. At Wander & Press we believe in the magic of the natural world to inspire inner peace and creativity. Wander & Press fine art, designs, and home goods are handmade with homegrown botanicals, local flower farms, or responsibly foraged from the wild. The studio is proud to partner with other women-owned businesses.
